Calibration of displays connected to Pluto using LightSpace CMS is exceptionally simple, with Pluto acting as pattern generator.
- Connect the Pluto LUT box to the LightSpace PC via a network cable.
(We do not recommend WiFi connections as interrupts can cause sync problems)
- Select the 'Network Manager' menu within LightSpace, which controls synchronisation with Pluto.
- Select Enable to active the Network Manager.
- Open a Pluto software control app and click on the 'Patches Tab'.
- Click in the 'Listen to server' check box to allow Pluto to communicate with LightSpace for automatic patch generation.
- Enter the IP address of the workstation running LightSpace, as reported in the Network Manager.
The Network Manager menu is located within the top-level icons.
Note: The 'Patch Indent/Size' controls may or may not work - check with Pandora on their integration status of this capability. If they do not work set the 4 Indent values to 0%, and the BG colour to the default of Black.
To activate the internal Patch Generator within Pluto, navigate to the desired profiling mode within LightSpace CMS - Calibration Interface, or Display Characterisation.
Leave the Pluto Software open for the duration of the profiling process as LightSpace communicates with the Pluto via this app.
For greater ease of use, run the Pluto Software on the same workstation as the LightSpace
When the patch window is activate within LightSpace (the LightSpace CMS internal floating patch window has been made active by clicking the small colour display box when using Quick Profiling or Manual Measure modes) the internal patch generator within Resolve will mimic the colour displayed.
Profiling can then be performed as normal, using the probe connected to LightSpace, and with Resolve displaying the required patches on the display being profiled.
Note: that when 'Listen to server' is selected, test pattern 16 will automatically be selected to avoid confusion. It is possible to select Disable Front panel and Disable Remote Access during the profiling process as a way to ensure to there is no external interference during this process. Remember to Bypass all LUTs if required before starting the process.
After profiling, a Calibration LUT can be generated as normal, and uploaded into Pluto as per standard Pluto operation.
TV Legal Workflows
If the image signal path is TV Legal the LUT may need to be pre-processed via the 'Edit/LUT Manipulation/VideScale' function before being uploaded into Pluto.
